OUR PHILOSOPHY
House of Nishivana
Nishivana imagines the forest at night, and the lights above it. A fragrance house for a slower evening, a thoughtful gift and the small rituals we choose for ourselves. Our first collection is Āraṇya: the forest beneath that sky.
Pronounced NEE-shee-VUH-nuh. Our intended name draws on niśā (night) and vana (forest). This is a proposed interpretation awaiting a Sanskrit scholar’s review, not a settled etymological claim.
Our first release is named Founding Batch No. 01 — The Forest Edit. It is still in preparation. The collection introduces five names, not a record of completed releases or a promise of immediate availability. We want the distance between an intention and a finished object to remain visible.

A note from the founder
Fragrance was never meant to be hurried. In our tradition, a flame, a breath and a quiet intention were enough to turn an ordinary hour into a ritual. Nishivana began from a simple wish: to make incense worthy of that moment, with botanicals chosen for character rather than convenience, shaped by hand, and released in numbered batches so that every box receives the attention it deserves.
Our manufacturer has the first batch ready. We are now preparing the online shop, confirming the product details and putting the purchase experience in place. Nothing is charged or ordered until secure checkout is available.

Why Araṇyānī
The Sanskrit word aranya means forest. Araṇyānī, the forest figure addressed in Rigveda 10.146, gives our name a literary point of departure. The hymn attends to woodland sounds, shifting impressions and a fragrant presence. We read it as an invitation to notice, not as a formula for manufacturing incense or an endorsement of a modern brand.
Words travel across transliterations and translations. The Cologne Digital Sanskrit Dictionaries offer a useful place to explore their meanings. Our journal distinguishes this textual reference from weekday–planet customs, whose scholarly review is pending. Those pairings are cultural traditions, not commands derived directly from the Rigveda.
What we will tell you plainly
Finished notes, burn duration, pricing and release arrangements are not yet confirmed. Where a specification is unresolved, the collection keeps its placeholder rather than borrowing certainty from a beautiful description. Supplier origins, certifications and personal histories will not be invented to make a page feel complete. The founder's note describes an intention; final production details still require verification.
A reservation expresses interest only. It takes no payment, places no order and does not confirm stock. You may explore the five fragrances before deciding whether to hear about the release. If your interest is a gift for a gathering or a particular person, a separate enquiry can help us understand the occasion without implying that a bespoke service is already available.
