01 / THE FOREST AT NIGHT

The day falls away.
The forest remains.

Nishivana imagines the forest at night: the hush between trees, the last warmth of the day, the lights above it. We are building a fragrance house around that meeting of earth and sky. Our first collection, Āraṇya, takes the forest as its literary starting point. Five planetary names give shape to five proposed fragrance directions. For an evening after work, a thoughtful gift, or simply a little time that belongs to you.

Choose a time that suits your day. Our weekday–planet associations draw on later Indian traditions, not on Rigveda 10.146. You do not need an auspicious time to enjoy a fragrance. Read the weekday guide and sources.

Notes on tradition and safe use

Planetary names and weekday pairings are cultural inspiration, not prescriptions or promises of outcomes. Our contemporary interpretations and Sanskrit references await scholarly review. The proposed profiles are not verified ingredient lists.

Use a stable, heat-resistant holder on a heat-resistant surface, away from fabrics, children and pets. Ventilate the space. Never leave incense burning unattended; fully extinguish it before leaving and let ash cool before disposal. Stop use if smoke causes discomfort.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

A note from the founder

Fragrance was never meant to be hurried. In our tradition, a flame, a breath and a quiet intention were enough to turn an ordinary hour into a ritual. Nishivana began from a simple wish: to make incense worthy of that moment, with botanicals chosen for character rather than convenience, shaped by hand, and released in numbered batches so that every box receives the attention it deserves.

Our manufacturer has the first batch ready. We are now preparing the online shop, confirming the product details and putting the purchase experience in place. Nothing is charged or ordered until secure checkout is available.
